Frozen is in the history books at No.1!
The heartwarming Disney film became the highest grossing animated feature this weekend, Walt Disney Studios announced in a press release. The fun-loving flick earned an estimated $398.4 million domestically and raked in an additional $674 million internationally, making a grand total of $1.072 billion worldwide.
Frozen is also the first billion-dollar film for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
This highly impressive feat surpasses the mark
Toy Story 3 set in 2010.

The film is based on
Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale,
The Snow Queen, and features the voices of
Kristen Bell,
Jonathan Groff,
Idina Menzel and
Josh Gad. Princess Anna (Bell) joins forces with mountain man Kristoff (Groff) as they try to locate her sister, Elsa (Menzel). Elsa's icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. Gad is the very humorous and hapless snowman, Olaf.
Frozen took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and
Robert Lopez won Best Song for "Let It Go."
