Kezzie - I bought the bird skirt from a charity shop, but the brand is Grace Karin.
Apologies for the very very dark photos that follow, but you know, winter!
The painting in the bathroom looks fine, although I pulled one of the handles off the cupboard a couple of days ago and The Chap had to prise it open with a screwdriver. No chance to hunt for a new set of handles yet.
Anyway, I said I'd never shared pictures of the new (4 years ago) bathroom, so here it is, the brief was "simple".
The walls look white, but they're actually very pale pink Cotton Flower from B&Q, the floor is cork. I do also have a toilet
Not much to say about that really, my mum bought me some towels and a candle that smells like fresh towels, she's very clever like that, so it's currently living in here where the smell can do least damage. The sideboard is still recovering from the incense my boss bought for me last Christmas.
Anyway, I mentioned spilling a tin of paint on the spare room carpet, I probably mentioned that room is now for my sewing ephemera, maybe, did I? Doesn't matter. I have started to move things in there, although it will all have to be moved out when the new carpet (as yet unordered) arrives, and it'll be stuffed full of kitchen stuff when the work starts in 10 days time! Did I post a picture of my new desk?
A nice IKEA desk, £60 from the charity shop, I love it. As you can see, instead of a Christmas tree I have some kitchen appliances in my living area. The kitchen guy nipped round last weekend, there is stuff missing, the Wickes guy is sorting it out, no need for stress.
I have been making some crafting progress, the far from finished bauble picture is now slightly less far from finished.
I made another reversible antimacassar, it makes me think of Lincoln, even though we cancelled our pre-Christmas visit because of the usual ruiner of things.
The deputy manager of the charity shop and I have become firm friends over the past couple of months, she informed me she had bought me some gifts, so I thought I would think of something for her.
I rarely make things for other people, and when I do, no-one wants them as I mentioned in this post, but I had an idea that I thought she may find fun.
I'd started this cross stitch over the Easter weekend, because let's not forget, there wasn't all that much else to do at that time! I simplified the design, and added her catchphrase to the main piece, then backed it with some skulls and hearts, because that's what she likes! It seems to have gone down quite well.
This little project along with one I did earlier in the year (below) has rekindled my fondness for cross stitch
I've ordered a couple more charts, I'm particularly looking forward to stitching these Quaker pumpkins, they're so cute!
I'm also going to try my hand at a sashiko panel (this one), never tried it before, we'll see how it goes.
The lengths I'll go to to avoid finishing a quilt!
Also, apologies for not replying to any comments recently, I haven't felt up to it, but hopefully that's behind me now!
